Where Ergonomics, Statistics, and Psychophysiology Mix In A Blend

ABOUT ME

Hi..welcome to my blog! I’m Auditya Purwandini Sutarto, simply call me Aud. Currently I am a graduate student of University of Malaysia Pahang, Malaysia. My research topic is on the use of heart rate variability biofeedback training for improving perfomance particularly for manufacturing operator’s purpose.

I have a bachelor degree in industrial engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology, class of 97, and master degree in Mathematics (Statistics) from Gadjah Mada University, class of 04.

Well, to be honest, I planned to pursue my PhD study on scheduling computation (i.e. metaheuristics) topics, some professors have accepted my application. However, due to mostly family issue, I turned into almost 180 degree decision, switching the topic into current area which relies heavily on medical and psychological content. Actually, my present study is still aligned with my undegraduate study since I  got involved much on the human performance topic as well as experimental research. As many other PhD students undergo, I have to learn a huge number of new topics, even from very basic theory.  I am willing to grab this opportunity because It’s not as nightmare as my master study while I was studying pure mathematics (ehm, the first book I read was “set theory and mathematic symbol”.. :p and I had no idea at all what is modulus????. ) It gave me much confidence that I must be able to cope with new challenge, studying psychophysiology and biofeedback :)

Wassalamu’alaikum
